RUTH IS A SYDNEY BASED PRODUCTION DESIGNER, WHOSE work spans a range of disciplines including film, TV, STILLS PHOTOGRAPHY AND STAGE.

RUTH’S LOVE FOR THEATRICAL PRODUCTION BEGAN WHILE LIVING IN CENTRAL LONDON, FREQUENTING THE WEST END. SHE RETURNED HOME EAGER TO PURSUE A CAREER, AND COMPLETED A DEGREE IN design for film, theatre & live events at the w.a academy of performing arts, WHERE SHE WAS ALSO INTRODUCED TO THE WORLD OF FILM MAKING.

IN 2024 RUTH WAS featured on inside film’S PRODUCTION DESIGN rising talent list, made up of people they BELIEVE ‘will shift and lead the industry into the future’

Ruth ENJOYS exploring new ideas and collaborating with others. Her practical approach, attention to detail and enthusiasm for finding versatile and functional solutions, contribute to her ability to create worlds that tell meaningful visual stories.  

Production Design credits include Dom and Adrian 2020 Dir. by Christiaan Van Vuuren for Stan; Nice Shorts Dir. by Nick Boshier and Jazz Twemlow for Amazon; The Hitchhiker Short Film Dir. by Adele Vuko; Let’s See How Fast This Baby Will Go Short Film Dir. by Julietta Boscolo; ABC comedy series DAFUQ? and The Legend of Gavin Tanner, for which she was nominated for Best Production Design at the WA Screen Awards. Her first feature film credit as a Production Designer was for Pinch, an independent production that won Best Film over commercial favourites at the 2015 WA Screen Awards.

Ruth has also worked on VARIOUS productions as an Art Director, such as After the TRIAL - Nine Network; The Let Down SERIES 2 - Netflix / ABC; Patricia Moore - SBS and For Real - NETWORK 10.

Ruth loves an opportunity to learn from highly accomplished designers and has been fortunate to work closely with several including Roger Ford and Annie Beauchamp. She was recognised as a key contributor for her work on Three Thousand Years of Longing Dir. by George Miller, UNDER Set Decorator Lisa Thompson at the 2024 APDG awards. 

Most recently Ruth has enjoyed focusing on design in the commercial space AND HAS COLLABORATED WITH CLIENTS SUCH AS THE ICONIC, QANTAS, VOLKSWAGEN, COMM BANK, ASICS, OPTUS, NRL, SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE, R.M WILLIAMS, PAYPAL, ADOBE AND MANY MORE.
